Wisconsin continues to expand four-year-old kindergarten (4K) across the state. Data from September 2014 shows that 95% of elementary public school districts offer free 4K to all; 391 of 413 districts now offer 4K.
The point-in time count in September showed 47,844 children enrolled in 4K programs. Additional data during the school year showed that 49,839 were participating at some time.
The growth in districts offering 4K and children served has grown dramatically in the last 10 years.
