WCCF has analyzed county-level Census Bureau data on poverty, income, and health insurance coverage for 21 Wisconsin counties, and found that state residents have not yet fully rebound from the impact of the recession that began five years ago. For example, the Council’s analysis found that in Wisconsin, the 2012 child poverty rate was 18.2%, well above the 13.4% rate in 2008; and median household income was $51,100 in 2012, compared to $55,600 in 2008 (adjusted for inflation).
