A surprising number of people don’t know about calling 2-1-1.  To help increase awareness, February 11 was designated national 2-1-1 Day.

2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their communities.  It provides free and confidential information and referral to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more.Information and referral is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year.  Information can be provided in over 90 different languages.

There are eleven 2-1-1 call centers that serve Wisconsin, providing access and service to all 72 counties.   To access assistance, simply dial 2-1-1 from a telephone landline.  Dialing 2-1-1 does not work with all wireless providers so in some cases you may need to dial the 7 digit number.
