Governor Doyle gave a boost to a child care Quality Rating and Improvement System when he announced a $10 million proposal in Milwaukee January 22. The Governor is sending his proposal to the Joint Finance Committee for action in this session. He has proposed different versions of quality rating system three times before, but in the 2009-11 budget the Legislature directed the administration to come back with a detailed proposal by the end of the biennium.
