Wisconsin was ranked as one of the top ten states for licensing program requirements and oversight of child care centers in a 2013 report from Child Care Aware of America, We Can Do Better: Child Care Aware of America’s Ranking of State Child Care Center Regulations and Oversight.
Wisconsin was ranked 4th in program requirements and 7th for program oversight and requirements combined. Wisconsin is also one of 16 states that meet 10 basic health and 10 basic safety requirements recommended by pediatric experts.
