The biennial budget bill made numerous changes that affect Wisconsin’s low- and moderate-income working families in negative ways. Some of those changes took effect on January 1, 2012, and others that apply to tax year 2011 will first be felt by Wisconsinites as they file their tax returns this year.
The State Budget is an Opportunity to Reduce Income Inequality
Whether Black, Brown, or white, rural or city, we all can thrive when state leaders invest in our children, families, and communities. Tax cuts for the rich are not the path to prosperity and will only make income inequality in Wisconsin worse.
