Tell Congress: No cuts to Medicaid or SNAP

Home 9 Health Care 9 Affordable Care Act (ACA) 9 Tell Congress: No cuts to Medicaid or SNAP

Too many working families in Wisconsin are already stretched thin—the last thing they need is higher health and grocery costs.

But Congress is proposing over $1 trillion in cuts to health care and food assistance programs, which includes BadgerCare.  These cuts would leave millions uninsured, double insurance premiums for millions more, and drive up costs for everyone – threatening the health and financial security of Wisconsin families.

One in Three Children

As the nation’s largest health insurer, Medicaid ensures that one in three Wisconsin kids can go to the doctor, fill prescriptions, or get treatment for a serious illness like cancer, without their family going bankrupt.

Rural Communities

Medicaid is an especially important source of health coverage for small towns and rural areas across Wisconsin.

People with Mental Health & Substance Use Disorders

For people living with mental health or substance use disorders, Medicaid provides access to treatments, community support, and targeted case management for individuals who might otherwise go without care due to high costs or private insurance declining to cover or offer specific services.

If you, a loved one, or a business you support depends on Medicaid, now is the time to call your Congressperson, U.S. Senators Baldwin and Johnson, and your state Senator and Assembly Representative. Our elected officials need to know how Medicaid cuts will affect families in Wisconsin and financially impact our communities. Tell them today: no cuts to Medicaid!
