Whether Black, Brown, or white, rural or city, we all can thrive when state leaders invest in our children, families, and communities. Tax cuts for the rich are not the path to prosperity and will only make income inequality in Wisconsin worse.

Economic hardship has a long-lasting negative impact on children—affecting their health and wellness over the course of their lives. Ensuring families can meet their basic needs should be a key goal for the 2023-25 state budget.

Wisconsin can be a place where we all—regardless of race or place—have what we need to overcome challenges and make our families safe and well. The state’s historically large surplus is an opportunity to build a stronger foundation for children and families in our state, like access to child care and health care, good schools, and affordable homes.
